NEGUS
By Mario Valcin
“We are more than just the pigmentation of their prejudice, we are prayer and personality personified in person.”
Negus exist as an exploration of identity for the black citizen who is simultaneous faced with enmity and adoration from a society that has deleterious affects of racism built into its DNA. Within these pages truth and beauty intertwine at the root in the form of prayer and prose. It is a culmination of frustration, and hopes: that border wishful thinking, that spill into soul for a cathartic release.
